Fairfax High School PTSA is hosting Chris Herren, former NBA basketball player to speak to our parent community.  Mr. Herren is a motivational speaker, author and sobriety advocate who struggled with substance use disorder during his youth and basketball career.  His message to students elevates positive life choices and self esteem and will touch on such topics as drunk driving, gateway drugs, peer pressure, bullying and self harm.  His Purple Project encourages students to choose sobriety and creates a student coalition that supports one another. Mr. Herren will speak to our student population during the school day and on the evening of October 2 to the parents and surrounding community in the Fairfax High School Auditorium. It is planned that Mental Health and Wellness partners and local law enforcement will be on hand to answer questions and provide support.   We encourage all parents to join us on October 2 at 7p in the FHS Auditorium.
